Obituary of Patrick H. Campbell, Jr.

Patrick “Pat” Campbell Jr. Dedham – Patrick “Pat” Campbell Jr. of Dedham, Maine was born, October 22, 1950, in Bangor to Patrick H. Campbell Sr. and Roselle Campbell of Brewer. Pat was a quiet and hardworking man who many will remember from Campbell’s Vending Service where he worked side by side with his father, Pat Campbell Sr., and his brothers. Pat later went to work for Shaw’s Market in Bangor and retired from Shaw’s last year. He was also a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War where he served honorably. But Pat’s passions were hunting, fishing, and writing. He was putting the finishing touches on his first novel and had already begun a second, when he passed away on June 25, 2016 from cancer. Those that knew Pat will tell you he was not a talker, but loved to hang out with his sisters and brothers at camp listening to the Red Sox on the radio. Pat lived his life simply and will be remembered as a kind and generous spirit with a serious streak of independence. Pat is survived by his father, Patrick H. Campbell Sr, and his mother Roselle Campbell of Brewer; his sister Kathy and her husband Joe Gagnon of Bangor, his sister Carolyn Campbell of Bangor, his brother Steve Campbell and his wife Patty of Brewer, his brother Mike Campbell of Bangor, and his sister Rosemarie and her husband Mike of Charlotte, Vermont, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in the Bangor area. Pat was predeceased by his brothers John and Douglas Campbell of Brewer. Family and friends may visit 12 PM – 2 PM Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer where a service honoring Pat’s life will be held at 2 PM with tributes and words of remembrance from his family.
