Obituary of Ronald Thomas Everett
Ronald “Ronnie” Thomas Everett
Fort Fairfield - Ronald “Ronnie” Thomas Everett, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 20th, 2016. He was born to Horace G. and Doris M. Watson Everett on May 18, 1931 in Fort Fairfield, Maine. Dad graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1949 and attended Aroostook School of Commerce. He achieved the rank of Corporal in the Army during the Korean War and served our country from December 1952 to October 1954. Dad was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6187 in Fort Fairfield and a member of the American Legion Post 0127 in Limestone for over 45 years.
Dad owned and operated H.G. Everett & Son in Fort Fairfield and sold building supplies until his retirement. He enjoyed visiting across the border in New Brunswick, Canada for a scenic drive, a meal or time with friends and family.
Dad is survived by his son, Tom Everett and wife, Dianne of Winterport; his daughter, Rhonda Hachey and husband, Steve of Kenduskeag; his son, Drew Everett and wife, Christie of Brewer; his daughter , Carrie Isbell and husband, Greg of Mansfield, Texas; his daughter, Amy Cotton and husband, Tim of Hampden. He was a blessed grandfather to have 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Dad was preceded in death by his loving parents, Horace G. Everett and Doris M. Watson Everett. His children are so grateful to the Lord Jesus and for those who helped Dad in the Kelly program at Eastern Maine Medical Center in 1981 and the many encouraging friends in AA who helped him successfully achieve sobriety for the last thirty five years. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the Bangor Maine Veterans Home and Hospice of Eastern Maine for their compassionate and excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bangor Maine Veterans Home Resident Activity Fund www.maineveteranshome.org or Hospice of Eastern Maine www.easternmainehomecare.org/Hospice.aspx or The Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter, 383 US Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074 or www.alz.org. There will be a burial service with full military honors 10 AM Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta with Pastor Scott Benner, officiating. There will also be a memorial service 11 AM Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the fellowship hall of the Calvary Baptist Church located at 12 Family Center Lane in Brewer.
