Obituary of Joan A. Lovett

Hermon – Joan A. Lovett, 95, wife of Garrett J. Lovett, passed peacefully at her home. She was born July 8, 1929 in Bangor, the daughter of Vincent and Christina (Trainor) Arsenault.

 

She was a lifelong member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker to her family. Joan went to work for the phone company after her children were in school where she worked in the engineering department for many years before retiring. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Joan enjoyed their annual car trips to Florida to visit their children. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting and knitting.

 

Surviving in addition to her husband of 73 years, Garrett James Lovett who describes her as “the girl of his dreams” are nine children, Elaine Lovett, Ellen Scripture and her husband Mike, Garrett Lovett, Jr., Charles Lovett, Dennis Lovett and his wife Lou Ann, Robert Lovett, Stephen Lovett, Jan Hederich and her husband Greg and Jon Lovett and his wife Darlene; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, Patty Willette and Lois Goddard and by two brothers, Tommy and Bobby Arsenault.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, August 19, 2024 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio St., Bangor. Family and friends may visit 9:00 to 10:30 AM Monday at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor prior to the funeral Mass. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. Messages and memories of Joan may be shared with her family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
