Obituary of Deborah Ann Chapman
Deborah (Deb) A. Chapman, 68, died unexpectedly August 6, 2024, at a local hospital.
Deb graduated from Bangor High School and the University of Maine at Orono. She semi-retired in December 2023 after working as the Finance Director for the Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence (MCEDV) for many years. In December 2023, Deb received the Champion for Change award from MCEDV for her contributions to end domestic violence in Maine. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, putting together puzzles, listening to her favorite albums and music, playing drums, and collecting mystery books. She recently said, “I love books. Even if I don’t read them all, they comfort me.”
She was predeceased by her mother, Marion Chapman; father, Stephen Chapman, Sr.; brother, Michael Chapman; sister, Rebecca Smith; nephew Michael Chapman. Deb is survived by her wife Carol Chapman; son, Lee Dunton; granddaughters Isabelle and Olivia; brother, Stephen Chapman, Jr. and wife Katherine, and their children, Nick, Andy and wife Amanda; brother, Mark Chapman and wife Gloria Blair-Chapman; brother Scott Chapman and wife Elsa, and their children, Wendy, Crystal and Jennifer; brother Jon Chapman and his significant other Debbie, and Jon’s children, Ben and wife Abbie, and Alexandra and significant other Alex; beloved nephew Roger Smith and children Rory, Lexi and Hadleigh. Deb also had many, many friends that she loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held 1 P.M., Monday, August 12, 2024, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 120 Park St., Bangor. A reception will follow at the church. Messages and memories may be shared with Deb’s family at kileyandfoley.com
