Obituary of Ruth Knox Small

Ruth Knox Small Brewer—Ruth Knox (Whiting) Small, 96, passed away June 15, 2016, at Brewer Health and Rehabilitation. She was born January 6, 1920, in Orono to Charles M. and Doris (Condon) Whiting. Ruth graduated from Brewer High School and worked at Liggett's Drug Store, W.T. Grant and Fanny Farmer. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd L. Small; siblings Ralph Whiting, Pauline Whiting, Mary Whiting, Charles Whiting, Hope Whiting, and Frances Whiting Osborne. Ruth is survived by children Ann R. Mesenzeff and husband Victor of Beavercreek, OH, William R. Small and wife Nancy-Anne of Levant, Charles L. Small and wife Nita of Roy, UT; grandchildren/great grandchildren Victor Mesenzeff and wife Sandie of Dunbarton, NH, Tanya M. George and husband Jerry of Fairborn, OH, Tina M. Yarnell and husband Michael of Kettering, OH, Samuel E. Small and wife Stacie of Clearfield, UT, Supratra S. Rapp and daughter Brooklyn of Roy, UT, Dick Holtzclaw and wife Natalie of Las Vegas, NV, Andrea M. Banschenbach and husband John and son Jackson of Virginia Beach, VA, Lauren and Collen George of Fairborn, OH, and Jacob Yarnell of Kettering, OH. The family wishes to thank the staff of Brewer Health and Rehabilitation for all the care given to Ruth during her stay. A private burial will take place at Hillrest Cemetery, Wiswell Road, Holden. Those who wish may make donations to a charity of one's choosing in memory of Ruth.
