Obituary of Evelyn M. Deloge
Evelyn (Philbrook) Deloge, 85, passed away on June 15, 2024 at Winterberry Heights in Bangor. She was born August 13, 1938 in Millinocket, Maine, to Willard and Marjorie (Campbell) Philbrook.
After marrying Bernard Deloge, they happily spent the next 57 years together. Evelyn spent most of her life caring for others. She created a safe and loving home in which to raise her family and was a woman of many talents including cooking, sewing and knitting. Evelyn's specialty in the kitchen was her homemade bread. Reading and collecting Danielle Steele books was one of her favorite pastimes. She and Bernard spent many days scouring through books at the Daytona flea market to complete her collection. She was not an ordinary woman. She even tried her hand at carpentry; working alongside her husband building the house they called home. She spent many hours under the hood of the family automobile helping with repairs and worked tirelessly every fall getting wood to ensure a warm home for the long, cold winters. Family was her top priority and her influence can be felt through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn was a devoted wife, loving mother, amazing grandmother, attentive great grandmother, generous daughter, loyal sister and valued friend. A helping hand and listening ear were readily available to anyone. She was an all around wonderful person, loved by all, and will be greatly missed.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters Debbie Pelletier of Pittsfield, NH; Brenda Levasseur and husband Ernest (Bee) of Glenburn; Cindy Bouchard and husband Shawn of East Millinocket, as well as sons Bruce Deloge of Lisbon Falls and Doug Deloge of Medway. She also leaves behind grandchildren Joel Pelletier, Danielle Ryan, Matthew Pelletier, Chantelle Chasse, Bernard Deloge, Katrina Lavin, Casey Cormier, Jason Levasseur, Shauna Bouchard, Kyle Bouchard, Wyatt Deloge, Madison Deloge and Anna Deloge; great grandchildren Jace, Jillian, Jameson, Kolbey, Keegan, Laney, Mackenzie, Bernard, Mason, Coleman, Jaelyn, Ariana, Ian, Hailey, Grant, Gavin and Arabella; three sisters Marian Bourassa, Doris Lowell and Kathy Steward; brother John Philbrook; sisters-in-law Jeanette Martin and Shirley Martin; and her many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Bernard Deloge, son Bernard Deloge, son-in-law Joel Pelletier Sr., father Willard Philbrook, mother Marjorie Philbrook, brother Willard Philbrook Jr., and sisters Arlena Wilmot and Charlotte Jones. A special thank you to all the staff at Winterberry Heights and Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional care they provided.
In honor of Evelyn's wishes, she will be cremated. There will be a celebration of life June 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Paul Bunyan Campground 1858 Union Street, Bangor, Maine. Messages and memories may be shared with her family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
