Obituary of Patricia Adelaide Stevens
Eddington - Patricia “Patty” Adelaide (McLaughlin) Stevens, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at her home in Eddington after a long illness. She was born May 11, 1944, at her grandmother’s home in Hampden, to Margaret A. (Page) and Woodrow W. McLaughlin, who was serving in Europe during WWII at the time of her birth.
Patty had fond memories of growing up at Kozy Korner in Orrington which included swimming in the Sedgeunkedunk Stream, attending East Orrington Congregational Church, watching the neighborhood boys play ball on Wright’s field, or skating on Bates’ pond. She graduated from Brewer High School in 1962 and found lasting friendships.
After moving to Massachusetts in 1962, one of her greatest joys was moving back to Maine with her children to be closer to her siblings and their families. First to Kennebunk and then to Eddington.
She will be remembered by all that knew her for her kindness to everyone around her and her dedication to her family. She was empathetic to those in need and found joy in giving to those less fortunate. Patty found joy in traveling, from Myrtle Beach, Florida, and Hawaii to the Caribbean. She always looked forward to spring to plant herbs and vegetables on her deck. When she moved from Massachusetts to Kennebunk, she made sure she brought her most loved flowers with her. Especially, her parents’ peonies that she brought from Orrington decades earlier. Of course, when she left Kennebunk, Mark had to dig up her many much-loved plants where they found a new home in Eddington.
She was predeceased by her parents, her mother and father in-law, Millie and Phil Stevens, her brother-in-law, Frank Harding, nephews Ricky and Timothy Robinson and Stephen White. And, her first husband, Stanley Farrell.
She is survived by her loving and supportive husband of 38 years, Mark Stevens, and their adopted daughter Isabella Lee Stevens of Eddington. Her children, Michelle Farrell of Bangor, Michael Farrell of Eddington, and a granddaughter Jessica Tuttle of Bangor. Her siblings, Sharon (Bob) King of Brewer, Bill (Nancy) McLaughlin and Norma (Lenny) Proulx all of Orrington. Sister-in-law, Val Harding and brother-in-law Barry (Kay) Stevens all of Oregon. Loving nieces and nephews, Seth (Judy) White, Sid (Shannon) White and Kenny McLaughlin all of Orrington, Sonya (John) Wilson of Port Charlotte FL, Brian (Angela) McLaughlin of Eddington, Eric (Kristen) Proulx of Windham, Kevin Proulx of Hancock, Michelle Miles and Stephanie Stevens-Weston both of OR and Robert Stevens of Idaho. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews that she enjoyed so very much. She was so proud to be part of the “Page” clan with loving cousins from Florida to Limestone ME.
According to Patty’s wishes, she will be laid to rest in the McLaughlin family plot at the Marston Cemetery in Orrington. Graveside service will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, considering giving to a charity of your choice. Messages and memories of Patty may be share with her family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com
