Obituary of George N. Bishop
Clifton - George N. Bishop, 65, passed unexpectedly March 3, 2024, in Brewer at PIA, the place at which he loved to be and spent many hours. He was born March 6, 1958, in Central Falls, RI, to George A. and Norma M. Bishop of Cumberland, RI.
He moved with his family to Maine, in 1977 and worked various jobs including Grant's Dairy and as a mechanic at Lavoie Services. He enjoyed every aspect of it from maintenance and care of the facility to helping kids in Learn to Skate and Play, coaching various teams, fundraisers, and playing in the adult leagues over the years. He especially loved coaching his daughter and having a team specifically for the girls. He spent countless hours behind the scenes "keeping the place going" with his loyal and hardworking crews at both businesses. George also loved and respected the hockey community. In his down time, he enjoyed restoring antique dirt bikes, landscaping at home, and spending time at camp with family and friends.
