Obituary of Carl Coburn White
Carl (Whitey) C. White, Jr., 99, of Levant passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023, of natural causes. He was born November 18, 1923, the oldest son of Carl and Helen (Giggey) White.
He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a Past Master of Kenduskeag Masonic Lodge 137, as well as Past Master of Levant Grange. He grew up in Bangor, moving to Levant when he was 21. He worked for Rapaport Auto Company (which became Van Syckle Auto) for over 50 years, until his retirement. After retirement, he drove cars for Hertz and Budget until the age of 85. He enjoyed collecting bottles, rocks and gems, and making jewelry. He was very generous throughout his life and loved making people smile and be happy. “I just want to bring a smile to people’s faces” he would say as he sang songs to his favorite and miscellaneous people.
He is survived by his two daughters, Carleen Dunham of Bangor and Lori Brown of Carmel; five grandchildren; four great-granddaughters. He was predeceased by his first wife Patricia (Babcock) White; second wife Eileen (Smith) White; sons Thom and Mike; granddaughter Heather; brothers Gerald, Ronnie, Vaughn, Harold, Bob; sisters Izeldia, Abbie, Damaris, and Wenda; special son-in-law Jenner Brown.
Carl’s family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice, especially Kris and Brenda, for the wonderful care they provided to Carl in his final days.
