Obituary of Anna Rose Crane
Anna R. (Golden) Crane, 94, wife of the late John W. Crane, passed peacefully April 30, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 14, 1928 in Bangor, the eldest daughter of 8, with her twin sister, Frances, to Francis R. “Jed” and Anna Avis (Kiah) Golden.
Anna or Ann as she was known, grew up in Bangor and worked as a waitress for many years in the Bangor area. She was a dedicated homemaker to her family and she volunteered at the nursing home where her twin sister resided until her death and then, because they loved her so much, she was hired on to work there. She was a life member of the Eagles Club and was the Chaplain of the VFW Auxiliary, Hampden until it closed. Ann loved dancing, playing bingo, spending time with her family and hosting family gatherings.
Surviving are her children, John Crane and his wife, Sue of Monroe, Jim Crane of Monroe, Rick Crane of Bangor and Carol Wiswell and her husband, Pete of Orrington; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1great great grandchild, for a 5 generation family.
In addition to her parents and 5 siblings, she was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life whom she married March 21, 1947; by her son Michael and by a grandson, Shane Foster.
Family and friends may visit 11 AM to 1 PM Monday, May 8, 2023 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor where a service celebrating her life will be held at 1 PM as the visitation concludes. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
