Ann Marie (Keenan) Albert, 83, passed away April 16, 2023, surrounded by her three children. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 6, 1939, she was the daughter of Francis R. Keenan and Ann Marie (Kilroy) Keenan. She and her family lived in Boston until 1954, when they moved to Orono, Maine. She graduated from John Bapst High School in Bangor, Maine in 1956, and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from the University of Maine at Orono in 1961.

In February of 1961 she married her husband, George Frederick Albert of Millinocket, Maine, and the couple moved to Caribou, Maine to begin their careers in education. She gave birth to their first child, Kevin F. Albert, in 1962. Shortly thereafter they moved to Brunswick, Maine, where the couple welcomed their two daughters: Sharon A. (Albert) Gordon in 1964 and Julie A. (Albert) Kohl in 1965. The family moved to Millinocket, Maine in 1970 to continue their careers in education and raise their family. In 1990, they moved to Hermon, Maine. Ann ended her career of 30 years as a teacher of biology at John Bapst High School in Bangor, Maine.

After her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed winters in Florida where they met many new friends. She always looked forward to her annual week on the Maine coast with her brother and sister. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bangor, Maine, often volunteering at the parish thrift store and serving meals at a Bangor food kitchen. She had many interests and liked to stay busy, but enjoyed being with her friends and family most.

Ann is predeceased by her parents, Francis R. Keenan and Ann Marie (Kilroy) Keenan; her husband of 53 years, George F. Albert; and a son-in-law, George Kohl. Ann is survived by her son, Kevin, and his wife, Denice; her daughter, Sharon Gordon, and her husband, Tony; her daughter, Julie Kohl; her sister, Claire (Keenan) Gorman, and her husband, Richard; her brother, Francis R.
