Obituary of David Lawrence Kelley

BANGOR – David Lawrence Kelley, 88, passed away surrounded by his family July 27, 2022.  He was born July 17, 1934, the son of Edward and Pauline (Ramsdell) Kelley.

 

David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.  He served as a medic in the United States Army during the Korean War, earning the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, and the Combat Medical Badge.  He later served in the United States Air Force.  David enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. David especially enjoyed playing golf with friends in Florida and Maine.  In his younger years, he always enjoyed a game of pool. 

 

He was predeceased by his parents; wife Marguerite (Demmons) Kelley; son Randell Kelley; brothers Robert and James Kelley.  He is survived by children Gail Kelley Moor, Cindy Conners and husband Kevin, Ronald Kelley and wife Leslee, Gary Kelley and wife Karen; grandchildren Christopher, Jason, Chasen, Jesse, Craig, Garrett, Lindsey, Jenny, Allyson; several great-grandchildren; sister Joyce Hanson; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

 

A graveside service with military honors will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hammond St. Ext., Bangor, with Pastor David Bean presiding.  All are invited back to David’s home at 666 Finson Rd., Lot 126, Bangor, following the service to continue the celebration of his life.
