Obituary of Carol Ann Morgan
Bangor & Indian Island - Carol Morgan, 61, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 15, 2021. She was born October 2, 1959 in Lansdale, PA, and grew up in Bridgeport, CT. She was a citizen of the Penobscot Nation, where she also called home. She was the daughter of Maxine Judson and Roger Morgan.
Carol was a funny, passionate, and loving person who was extremely proud of her Penobscot heritage. She lived for many years in Bridgeport, CT, until moving permanently to Maine in 1999, where she lived first on the Penobscot Nation Reservation, then in Orono, and then in Bangor. For many years, she worked as a dental assistant at Penobscot Nation Health Department, and for several years she owned and operated her own nail salon in CT. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Carol will remember her as one-of-a-kind: she was her own person and she lived life to the fullest. Carol was an avid sketcher and loved to draw; play and curse her Kindle-Bingo game; and she loved to watch television, especially murder mystery shows, whose endings were met with her either saying “I could have solved that crime” or “I had a feeling it was him.” In her youth, Carol loved to travel and she visited islands in the Caribbean and Hawaii. Carol and her loving, giving, and passionate spirit will be deeply missed by all.
Carol is survived by her two children: Morgan Talty and wife Jorden of Levant, and Jessica Moores, of Bridgeport, CT. She was lovingly known as Nani by her grandchildren, Joao Alves Jr., Josephine Moores, and Elizabeth Preble. Carol is also survived by three sisters and one brother: Dottie Sockbeson and husband Albert Jr. of Florida, Linda Socoby and husband Mike Sr. of Indian Island, and Sue Preble and husband Tom of Bradley, and David Morgan and wife Elizabeth of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Jade Wiseley, Mike Socoby Jr., Stephanie Sockbeson Ballesteros, and Lily and Julie Preble.
