Obituary of Shane Jon Deane
CORINTH & HAMPDEN – Shane J. Deane, 43, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 21, 2021. While Shane battled many years of medical complications, he held fast in his faith and fought to live his life to the fullest. He was born in Bangor on November 13, 1977 the son of Judith Bither and Stephen Deane. Shane graduated from Central High School, class of 1996. He worked as an automotive mechanic for several years before starting his own lawn care business, SJ Deane. Shane loved trucks, which led him to selling trucks at JCB Auto sales where he spent many days chatting with customers. More than anything, he loved talking about hunting, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Shane was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge #124 in Charleston and he attended Charleston Church for many years.
Shane is survived by his mother, Judith Bither and her husband James of Millinocket; father, Stephen Deane and his wife Laura of Exeter; sister, Christy Deane of Corinth; sister, Kati Grant and her husband Jason of Corinth; Aunts and Uncles, Gordon and Mary Lou Deane, Deborah Deane, Claudette and David Nason, and David and Kathy Ellingwood; nieces, Britni Grant and Madison York ; nephews, Owen Grant, Jackson Grant and Kaleb York; and paternal grandfather, Larry Deane of Winterport; and step-sister, Keri York, as well as several other cousins. Shane was lucky enough to have too many friends to list without forgetting any. His daily chats with them were the highlight of his day. He was predeceased by his longtime canine companion, Lanie; paternal grandmother, Roberta Deane and his maternal grandparents, Marjorie and David Ellingwood.
A celebration of Shane’s life will be held at a later date when family and friends can come together again. Memorial donation may be made to: Kids on the Move, c/o Charleston Church, PO Box 179, Charleston, ME 04422.
Shane fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith.
