Obituary of Edson Wentworth Arnold
HOLDEN - Edson W. “Eddie” Arnold, 76, passed away December 20, 2020, peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was born in Brewer June 1, 1944, the son of Edson and Arleen Arnold.
He went to Brewer High School and graduated in 1962. He worked various jobs throughout the years, including Eastern Fine Paper and the Army National Guard. Eddie served the Bangor community for 20 years at the Bangor Fire Department, retiring as a Captain in 1988 at Station 6. He was a lifelong carpenter and a lifelong member of the Bangor Lodge of Elks and Brewer Eagles Club. Eddie made memories with numerous special friends at his camp on East Grand Lake and enjoyed spending time at his garage with neighbors, friends, and family. Eddie always lent a helping hand to anyone in need. His home and garage were a place to gather over the years and everyone was welcomed and greeted with a smile. He always had gumballs and candy for all of the kids. Eddie will be remembered for his witty conversations, Friday night pool tournaments, Johnny Cash music, and Jimmies burgers. He was a great friend to many and will be missed dearly by his community and Charles Dr.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife Kathaleen Arnold; daughter Lori Arnold Haas; nephews Tim Tardiff and Ralphie Holyoke. Eddie is survived by son Scott Arnold; grandchildren Maddison Arnold, Seth Baker, Kailee and Jen Deprey; great-grandchildren Gavin and Griffin Deprey; sisters Joyce Winchester and husband Sid, Peggy Holyoke and husband Ralph, Velma Stewart and husband Donnie; son-in-law Bill Haas; daughter-in-law Robin and her husband Ken; several nieces and nephews.
At this time there will not be a service due to COVID. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
