Obituary
Obituary of Wendy A Eaton
Mrs. Wendy Anne Eaton of 71 Boutelle Road, Bangor Maine, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Northern Light Hospital Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Wendy was born on November 27,1941 at Weymouth Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Wendy grew up in a loving household with her parents Curtis and Frances Ruggles. She graduated from Walpole High in 1959 and remained in touch with some classmates throughout her life. Wendy attended The Chandler School For Women in Boston. Wendy was lucky enough to meet her soulmate and lifelong companion/husband John. The couple was married at Fort Knox Kentucky on September 1, 1961. Wendy and John raised two beautiful children John Jr (Jay) and Denise Eaton while living in Bangor. Her daughter Denise went on to marry and gave Wendy a wonderful granddaughter, Natalie Mary Copley, who Wendy could never seem to stop talking about.
Wendy loved the ocean and was always happy getting her hands dirty while working in the garden. Traveling was a lifelong passion and she often recited her exploits in Montana, Arizona, NYC and South Carolina, Florida and New Orleans to anyone and everyone! Wendy's truest love was always her family where she served as the family historian. Somehow, she managed to compile a treasure trove of family photos. Wendy was constantly pulling out new ones that everyone else had forgotten about or hadn't seen before. She had a real talent for finding important family photos from long ago. Wendy always thought of caring for those in the world who were needy. She often took food, bags of clothes and personal supplies to the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter.
Wendy is survived by her husband John Howard Eaton, her daughter Denise Katherine Copley, her son- in- law Todd William Copley, and her granddaughter, Natalie Mary Copley. Wendy was predeceased by her son, John Jr. (Jay) Eaton, and her parents Curtis and Francis Ruggles. Wendy will be dearly missed and, all the genuine love she generously gave, will be remembered and never replaced.
