I was fortunate to get to know Rew with the New Renaissance Singers. We shared a lot of laughs, conversation, and I would say that we made some pretty awesome music. Fond memories that I will hold forever. Condolences to Pam and all of Rew's family and friends.

My father-in-law, REW, the patriarch of our family, left this earth last Saturday, Feb 15th, after a valiant battle with an aggressive type of brain cancer. He was 86. He was such an unparalleled example of what it’s like to be a good human being. He was a strong man and not just physically. His strength of character, moral compass and support was always so very uplifting and guided our family. He was a quiet observer who could come up with the unexpected zinger that just made you absolutely crack up. He was authentic - and making him laugh was pure gold because he was not a polite giggler - so when he laughed with you, it was magical. He delighted in playing his banjo, something I wish I had been able to observe more of. He was generous of heart and taught me so much over the past 20 years and probably never fully knew his impact on my life. My father died when I was just 4 years old, and REW stepped in to dance with me, on the ever important day that I married his first born son, for the traditional father-daughter wedding dance while Chuck sang a song he wrote for me about my Dad. It was perfect, precious and healing. We both cried and I felt the love of a father. I’ll never forget his quiet yet strong love for his family and how being with him always made me feel and know a father figure in my adult life. I love you REW and will miss you forever. Until we meet again...
