Obituary of Lorenda D. Fowler

Lorenda D. (McAvey) Fowler, 65, wife of Matthew W. Fowler, passed on Nov 8, 2019 at her home. She was born Oct. 28, 1954 in Bangor the daughter of Kenneth and Phyllis (Thayer) McAvey.

Lorenda attended Hermon schools and later decided to become a licensed hairdresser. Lorenda really loved her craft projects and there wasn’t much she couldn’t do.  She made quilts and stuffed animals, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was also deeply involved in genealogy research and loved riding her Harley throughout the countryside with her friends. She loved animals and had a little dog named Emma that she cherished.

Lorenda will be deeply missed and is survived by her husband, Matthew Fowler of Dedham; her parents, Kenneth and Phyllis McAvey of Hermon; her brother, Dale McAvey of Hermon and No. Carolina; her sister, Sheryl Champagne and her husband, Terry of Mabank, TX; Lorenda adored her niece, Lindsay Reznicek and her husband, Jason and her great nephew and niece, Jase and Reese of Mabank, TX and her nephew, Beau Kendall Champagne of Austin, TX. She was very fond of her in-laws, Margaret and David Chavaree.  Lorenda’s family gratefully thanks Kindred for their care, with a special thanks to her nurse, Debbie and social worker, Lindsey.

A graveside service will be held 1:30 PM Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019 at Puddledock Cemetery, Puddledock Road, Charleston. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Ave., Bangor.
