Obituary of James M Kirlin
Glenburn—James M. Kirlin, 79, passed away peacefully November 3, 2019. He was born in Houlton April 16, 1940, the son of Gus and Vivian (Collier) Kirlin.
Jim grew up in Houlton and graduated from Houlton High School. After graduation he married Celia Kaminsky and they moved to Waterbury, Ct. While living in Connecticut, they had their first two children, Jeffery and Brenda. In 1968, they moved back to Maine and settled in Bangor. Soon after, they had their third child Tommy. Jim retired from St. John’s Catholic Parish, after working for 35 years at St John’s School and Catholic Church as their longest serving Sexton. He loved the ocean and all outdoor activities.
Jim was predeceased by his wife of over 25 years, Celia; parents; Gus and Vivian; brothers Robert and Richard; sister Noreen. He is survived by children, Jeffery Kirlin of Bangor, Brenda Stout and husband Scott of Glenburn, Thomas Kirlin and wife Gilian of Bradford; grandchildren, Sara Ellis and husband Todd, Benjamin Stout and wife Brianna, Zachary Kirlin and wife Catherine, Konnar Kirlin, Garrett Kirlin; great-granddaughter Lily Stout; sisters, Gerry Scott and husband Charlie, Carol Bell and husband Frank; brother Daniel Kirlin and wife Sue; several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed and remembered by special friends, Dan and Mary McKay, and Scott, Melissa, Eric and Miranda Fish.
The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for their care and concern.

Family and friends are invited to visit 4-6 PM , Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM, Wednesday, November 13, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 217 York St., Bangor. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio St., Bangor. All are invited to the church hall for a reception following the services. Messages and memories may be shared with the family at kileyandfoley.com
