Obituary of Mildred E Perry

Hermon - Mildred E. (Newman) Perry of Hermon, Maine passed away peacefully on March 25, 2019 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Bangor, with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 24, 1925, in Lake View, Maine, the daughter of the late Vincent and Minnie (Leek) Newman. “Millie” graduated from Milo High School in 1943. In her youth, she was a member of the Park Street Methodist Church, choir member, Sunday school teacher and church pianist. She loved music and played trumpet in the town band and performed Taps at military funerals. Millie especially loved the music of Sam Cooke. She married Conrad W. Perry, Sr., and resided most of her life in Hermon, Maine where she was a co-owner of CW Perry & Co. She devoted her life to her family and her grandchildren and spent many happy days camping with them. She loved animals, gardening, cooking and playing golf, and she was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Celtics.

Mildred is survived by sons, Conrad Perry Jr. and wife Kum Cha of South Portland, David Perry of Hermon, John Perry of Newmarket, NH and daughter Linda Perry of Saco; grandchildren, Lauren Zito of Pittsburgh, PA, Steven Mercier of Lewiston, Matthew Perry of Hermon and Jacob and Casey Perry of So. Berwick; two great-grandchildren,  Josephine Friedman of Pittsburgh, PA and Allyson Dority Mercier of Dixfield; step-grandchildren, Clifford, Michael, William and Brandy. Millie also leaves behind several very special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mildred is predeceased by her husband, three brothers, Ernest, Harold and George Newman and two sisters, Edith Grinnell and Jessie P. Newman.

A memorial service will be held in June at a time to be announced when the family will be able to gather and celebrate Mildred's life. Arrangements trusted to Kiley &Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. Messages and memories may be shared at kileyandfoley.com.
