Dear Clyde,
I was so sorry to read in the Bangor Daily News of Trudy's passing. I didn't know Truday, but from her beautiful obituary she did sound like a most wonderful human being and I wish I had known her. But as I read of her life, I could understand why the two of you were married for so many years since you shared common values of caring and compassion.
Doug and I are in India for his sabbatical, so I won't be able to attend the memorial service to share my condolences in person, but I wanted you to know you are in my thoughts at this time of loss.
With warm regards,
Ilze Petersons

I remember Trudy very fondly. As a young boy, I was always attending every Democratic political event and would inevitably interact with Trudy and Clyde--who treated me as a contributor to the process, even in my youth. A lovely smile, a wonderfully kind person. My parents Jacquie and Jim thought very highly of her.

My condolences, Mac. So sorry to read of Trudy's passing. She was a true woman of compassion and conviction in her long and engaged life. I wish you the best as you
soldier (not a good word for peace folk, like us) on. I guess you and I and Charlie are
three musketeers who have lost our commited partners. I miss seeing you in Sorrento
in the absence of the Ruth Moss presence to energize progressives. I shall inform Jamie of the sad news. All the best. Jim W.

So sorry to hear of Trudy's passing. I remember walking up the hill to visit her when she was my dad's secretary and I was maybe 10 (?) I remember that my parents had nothing but utmost respect for both of you. Maybe she's his secretary out there in the great beyond now. Who knows? In any event, I also had a lot of respect and admiration. I remember well the picket lines in front of our house and my mother making coffee for those on strike. I didn't know that Trudy was the organizer of that, but that's another reason for respect. She was a great lady and will surely be missed.
