Obituary of Shirley P. Ludwig
Belfast & Philadelphia--Shirley P. Ludwig, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at home in Belfast surrounded by her family on May 29, 2018, two days after her 84th birthday. Shirley was born in Philadelphia on May 27, 1934, to Charles and Ethel (Ward) Pascuzzo.
She was a long standing member of the Frankford Baptist Church in Philadelphia, where she met and married her husband George Ludwig on June 26, 1955, and where they raised their five children. Upon moving to Maine, Shirley attended First Baptist Church in Belfast. Shirley loved attending Sunday morning services, listening to hymns, reading her devotional and Guidepost every morning, and religiously praying for her family. She was an avid reader and Word Search Puzzler.
Shirley was first and foremost a wife and mother, always putting the needs of her husband and children before her own. She loved to cook and bake, especially “Brown Edged Wafers with strawberries.” She had a sweet tooth, and loved her Coconut Junior Tasty Kakes, New Jersey Salt Water Taffy and Johnson’s Caramel Corn from Ocean City, NJ.
She was preceded by her parents; husband George W. Ludwig just five weeks ago; brothers Charles and Robert; sister Ethel Frazier. Shirley is survived by children Sandra and husband John Cameron, Brian Ludwig and Amy White, Donald and wife Deborah Ludwig, Charles and wife Kathleen Ludwig, and Jennifer and husband Robert Brown; beloved sister Virginia Sgorbati. She was the proud and beloved “Gram”to 27 and Great-gram to 17.
