Obituary of Albertress Alma Stearns
Brewer & Camden—Albertress Alma Stearns, 84, passed away peacefully May 18, 2018. She was born March 23, 1934, in Camden to George and Laura (Gallison) Randall.
Albertress lived and worked in the Camden and Rockland area most of her life before retiring to Bangor. She attended Camden schools prior to meeting and marrying her husband, David F. Stearns. Together, they raised four children. They built and remodeled many homes. They were truly life partners. She worked various jobs throughout her life, and she especially enjoyed her employment at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, Maine; however, she was proudest of her job as a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She knew how important it was for people to become educated, and she advocated for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to have the opportunities she was not given. She celebrated in their successes and was very, very proud!
Albertress was a very friendly and outgoing individual. She loved to make people laugh, which earned her nickname, "Trixie". She was able to start a conversation with anyone she met. She loved babies and children and could not walk by them without giving them her full attention. She had a kind and generous heart, and if she felt someone needed something, she would always try to help. The world was truly a better place because she was in it! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family. We love you Mom (Grammy)!
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 60 years, David Stearns, and son Wayne Stearns. Albertress is survived by children Roberta Philbrook Tooley of Zephyrhills, FL, David Stearns and wife Linda, of Appleton, and Heidi Cobb and husband John, of Holden; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to: Literacy Volunteers of Bangor, 354 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401.
