Joanne A. Brooks

Holden – Joanne A. Brooks, 86, wife of the late Orin W. Brooks, Jr, died peacefully Mar. 30, 2018 at her home in Holden, surrounded by those who loved her most. She was born Jan. 27, 1932 in Van Buren, the daughter of Fred D. and Lucy (Caron) Lebel.

Joanne was a woman of grace, love, forgiveness, and faith. She shared her love for reading with her granddaughters, as she had with many other children during story hour at the library.

Surviving are her two children, Theresa Davis and her husband, Robert of Holden and Michael Brooks of Brewer; two grandchildren, Oriana Fleming and her husband Richard of Holden and Alexandra Nisen and husband Rune of Russia; two sisters, Dianna Lebel and Charlene Frati and her husband, Orlando of Bangor; one brother, Dean Lebel of Hallowell; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Charles Collins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 noon Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio St., Bangor. A reception will be held afterward in the church center and burial will be a Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
