Steven A. Zanardi
HAMPDEN & CHESTER CT – Steven A. Zanardi, 64, passed away surrounded by his family on November 24, 2017. He was born in Middletown, CT on May 6, 1953 the son of Arthur “Bud” and Carolyn “Connie” (Woodhouse) Zanardi.
Steve graduated from Valley Regional High School in Deep River, CT, class of 1971. He went on to graduate from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, class of 1976. Steve was a well respected and dedicated pharmacist. His career path and gypsy spirit gave him the opportunity to travel extensively and form friendships wherever he went from Caribou to Costa Rica. He enjoyed riding his Harley, networking with his small businesses, a cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and most of all, spending time with his sons. Steve was a longtime friend of Bill W and an avid fan of the Rex Sox and New England Patriots. Steve will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to all.
Steve is survived by his sons, Chris Zanardi of Corinth and Keith Zanardi of Windham; sister, Carol and her husband Tom Drag of Ivoryton, CT; niece, Ashley and her husband Eric Champion of Deep River, CT; nephew, Tim Carlson of Chester, CT; mother of his children, Sue Zanardi of Hampden; special cousin, Jim Zanardi of Chester, CT; and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his parents.
Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 pm, Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union Street, Bangor. A graveside service will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Fountain Hill Cemetery, High Street, Deep River, CT with a time of fellowship and refreshment following. In honor of Steve’s dedication to his profession, memorial donations may be made to the Steven A. Zanardi Memorial Scholarship, P.O. Box 347, Hampden, ME 04444.
Steve’s family extends their deepest appreciation to the medical team at St. Raphael’s Hospital, New Haven, CT. Their compassion, professionalism, and guidance were immeasurable.
