Obituary of Marie Louise Lamontagne

Benton--On the morning of July 21, 2017, at the age of 93, Louise peacefully went to join her beloved husband Paul. She was born on May 2, 1924 in Daigle, ME to Willie and Celina (Dumais) Daigle. She was the last of a large loving French Catholic family. After they were married, Louise and Paul settled in Brownville Junction. There they started their family and later moved to Dover-Foxcroft where they rasied their family. She was employed at and retired from Hathaway Company in Dover-Foxcroft as a seamstress after 23 years. She and Paul traveled the United States together. She enjoyed camping, time with family and friends, quilting, knitting, and card playing. She and Paul eventually bought their retirement home in Dade City, FL, where she resided for 13 years. During the summers since 1993, they came home to enjoy time with their family in Benton. She was predeceased by her husband. She is survived by daughters Nancy and husband Gary Duneman of IA and Ruth Lamontagne of Benton; son Stephen and wife Nancy (Hartshorn) Lamontagne of CO and AZ; grandchildren Gary "Eric" and wife Leslie Duneman, Jeffrey Duneman, Kevin and wife Kate Duneman, Travis and wife Tammy Kitchin, Rebecca Clewley and partner Earl Godsoe; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Her laugh and smile will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a special education fund Marie had established for her great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 AM Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Corpus Christi Parish, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. Burial will take place that day at 2 PM at Pine Tree Cemetery, Route 11, Brownville.
