Obituary of Ronald L. Boone, Sr.
Ronald L. Boone, Sr.
Brewer – Ronald L. Boone, Sr., 85, husband of Virginia (Foley) Boone, passed away July 5, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born Dec. 24, 1931 in Eastport, the son of Hermon A. and Leita K. (Matthews) Boone.
Ronald served with the US Navy for a brief period and he owned and operated Ronnie’s Upholstery in Waterville and Eastport. He also worked 25 years as a sewing machine mechanic for C F Hathaway in Calais and later in Waterville. Ronald earned his high school diploma at the age of 65 from Waterville High School. During his retirement, Ron and his wife Virginia traveled many miles to attend their grandchildren's sporting events. You could find them at hockey and basketball games, as well as, swim meets. Ron was his grandchildren's biggest fan. One of Ron's favorite places was Harris Point Cabins, #3 in particular. Every 4th of July, you could find him sitting at the water's edge looking out on Passamaquoddy Bay. He will be deeply missed by his family in the years to come. Our gatherings will never be the same without our Dad, Grampie, and Great Grampie. With every sunset we see from Harris Point over the 4th, we will remember him with love and sadness.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 67 years are his three children, Ronald L. Boone, Jr and his wife, Peggy of Brewer, Gena M Hebert of Plano, TX and Julie L. Meehan and her husband, Thomas of Brewer; seven grandchildren, Aaron Boone and his wife, Lee of Yarmouth, Elizabeth Breen and her husband, Matthew of Thomaston, Arwen Hebert of Plano, TX, Nicholas Hebert and his wife, Kristen of Frisco, Texas, Nathaniel Hebert Fredericksburg, Virginia, Andrew Meehan and his wife, Hali of Eddington and Sarah Meehan of Kittery; and eight great-grandchildren.
