Obituary of Derick Alan Warren
Orland—Derick Alan Warren, 30, died April 20, 2017, in Holden as a result of an automobile accident. He was born Sept. 25, 1986, in Blue Hill, the son of David Warren and Venetia Hunt.
Derick grew up in Orland, where he attended school. He graduated from Brewer High School in 2005. He most enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting, four wheeling, and working on his truck. He was always the life of the party and was everyone's "Friendly Freddie". He loved being a part of the Blue Hill Fair from mowing the grounds, working in the sound booth, and visiting with friends and family.
As many know, Derick received a "second chance" after surviving a serious accident 11 years ago. He would learn to walk, live, and love once again. He never felt sorry for himself nor wanted anyone to feel sorry for him. He built his truck while spending time with his buddies Ryan and Mike. He shot his prized buck with his father David and brother Matt. He lovingly cared for and helped raise his sister Camilla, who he simply adored. He would finally find the love of his life, his fiancée Claire Doty. He loved her dearly along with her boys Caleb and Cole. He cherished them with all his heart and they returned that love, giving him the loving family that he so desired. He never felt as though he was cheated by the consequences of his accident but he instead chose to grab life to the fullest, completely embracing the love of those who were important to him.
Derick was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Ora and Lillian Warren. He is survived by his fiancée Claire Doty and children Caleb and Cole of Brewer; mother Venetia and husband Steven Hunt of Orland; father David A. Warren and wife Kath of Orland; brother Matthew Warren of Orland; sister Camilla Hunt of Orland; half-brother David Warren; half-sisters Shari and Barbie Warren; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; numerous friends. He will be sadly missed by his special grandfather John Farnham, with whom he shared a special bond.
A service celebrating Derick's life will be held 11 AM Wed., April 26, 2017 at Hammond St. Congregational Church, 28 High St., Bangor, with Derick's soon-to-be father-in-law Rev. Mark Doty presiding.
