Obituary of Nicholas A. Tracy
Holden – Nicholas A. Tracy, 17, died unexpectedly April 15, 2017 in Holden. He was born April 9, 2000 in Bangor, the son of Arthur L. and Nicole J. (Beane) Tracy. Nick grew up in Brewer and Holden and was a junior at Brewer High School. He was a member of the Brewer High School Tennis Team. He was a seasonal employee at Big Jakes Go Karts in Holden and also assisted at the family businesses of Twin City Speed Shop and Art's Service Center in Brewer. He loved his music and sneaker collections. Nick had aspired to continue his education at UMO in pursuit of a career in Engineering. Nick had great times playing a variety of sports with friends and family, especially basketball. He enjoyed fishing, was adept on his hoverboard, and loved Xbox gaming. He loved his cat, Spike, and dog, Bear, referring to them as "my boys" and had a huge heart when it came to animals, friends, and family.
Surviving in addition to his parents and sister, Amanda Tracy, are his brother, Andrew James and his girlfriend, Ashley Ferrence of Lewiston; his grandparents, Eleanor Bohan of Brewer and Paul and Jan Beane of Talmadge; aunts and uncles, Lou and Rhonda Tracy of Millinocket; Dan and Talitha Jones of Cornwall, NY, Kip Curtis and Marcela Estevez-Curtis of Worthington, OH, Johanna and Jim Schimmel of Greensboro, NC, Zachary and Shanna Beane of Talmadge, Amity Beane and partner, Owen Libby of Dixfield, Nancy and Skip Flagg of Holden, and numerous additional great aunts, uncles and second cousins throughout Maine and the entire United States.
Nick was beloved by his paternal cousins Heather Ambrose of Millinocket, Kristine Tracy and fiancée Tim Hughes of Milford and Tyson Tracy of Millinocket, all who share special memories of times spent with Nick. Nick was also beloved by his maternal cousins who he got to know through the tradition of Family Camp each summer. Emma, Daniel, Gabriel, Maxim, Noah, Nathan, Amilia, Erik, Isaac, and Zoe will forever treasure their memories made with Nick.
A service honoring Nick's life will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Jeff's Catering, 15 Littlefield Road, Brewer with the Rev. Carl Schreiber, presiding and a time of friendship and refreshments will be immediately afterward. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions in Nicholas' memory to Brewer High School Scholarship Fund, 79 Parkway South, Brewer, ME 04412. Nick's family asks those that wish to wear their favorite sneakers in his honor and to share a photo at nicholas.tracy.memories@gmail.com to be used in a digital photo display on Thursday.
