I remember the first time we met
"This is my son Dont`e" his dad said brimming with pride.
He was an above average boy with all of the american pressures piled upon him.
What`s in the bag? i asked:
"its for my pet stewie, he`s a chinese water dragon!
We talked for a while and my wife and i could tell right off what a smart,polite young man he was.
Not like most people i knew and certainly not like most other young people I have spoken with.
I love to engage our young in conversation; Dont`e and I bonded right away.
I chided him from time to time about his generations music,their entertainment, and social media.
Dont`e could have given it right back to me like most of the youth i speak with. you know, your generation ruined this.....wrecked that.....we have to pay for it....and on-and on
Not so with Dont`e
Respect is what i would receive on any occasion we spoke.
He told me he wanted to pursue a military career .
Something I never hear todays youth talk about.
I felt a deep respect growing in me for this young man and wished if i had a son,I could do no better than Dont`e.
You see,God blessed me with a strong memory and its at times like the present that i make the most of it.
I`ll miss this friend i knew for such a short time, but i`ll cherish my memories that i have of Dont`e forever.

I cannot even count how many times these 4 were at my house over the years. Running around outside,splashing in the pool, bouncing around down in the basement, loud music, loud movies, lot's of "noise". Just 4 friends enjoying growing into young men. Sam, Gabe and Jason's lives were better from having Dont'e in it. His smile, laughter and "noise" will be greatly missed at our home. Our deepest condolences to the entire Izzo family.

I can't believe it, I will miss him so much. I remember everything about him, he was a wonderful young man and so was his father, I remember playing paintball with him and going to sky-zone with him and a couple friends of him. He was weird at times but I loved it and he would always crack me when im feeling down. He always had a special place in my heart and his family was just awesome. I went to middle school with him and he was always nice to everyone, he did cross country and boy did he do a great job, I was so proud of him and i still am till this day. He has touched many lives down here in Cape Coral, Fl. I thank his whole family for having the pleasure of meeting such a wonderful young man with his great mom and dad. Love Jesus.

My son,Dont'e who at the age of 7 years old made a comment about our first summer at our current residence. That comment was made during the summer of 2008.He stated after I had finished cutting the grass,"Gee dad,the smell of fresh cut grass is nice"! I was amazed at his ability to tap into such a creative thought of expressionism. It seems that gift of awareness became clouded. I don't know why. I don't know why. All I do know is that he was so sensitive! His smile would completely flaw me. Rest my boy, rest. I will forever miss you Dont'e! I love you buddy!! You can now be at ease.
