Dear Donna & Christie,
I am sorry for your loss. Your mother/grandmother and my late mother shared decades of friendship sitting side by side at the beauty shop. If the beauty shop moved, they moved together with it, scheduling back-to-back appointments. They kept in touch by phone between appointments. On my occasional visits home, we would sometimes go to lunch together. Dorothy was always a wonderful conversationalist with something positive to say and witty insights on a wide range of subjects. And Christie, to say you were the apple of your grandmother's eye would be an understatement of gargantuan proportions. Dorothy was special in so many ways. Other Mainers might have sand or salt in their trunks in the winter. Not Dorothy. She had birdseed, lots and lots of it. I hope that, in time, your memories lead you to a peaceful place. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
