Obituary of Julia D. Crowley

Julia D. Crowley Brewer & Jonesport – Julia D. Crowley, 98, wife of the late Gordon M. Crowley, died Nov. 6, 2015 at The Woodlands in Brewer. She was born May 25, 1917 in Addison, the daughter of Merton and Addie (Emerson) Drisko. Julia was a 1936 graduate of Jonesport High School and married Gordon, the love of her life, on Oct. 10, 1938 enjoying 67 years of marriage. She was a member of the Sawyer Memorial Church, Jonesport and president of the Ladies Fellowship for years prior to moving to Brewer where she joined the Second Congregational Church. Julia attended a bridge club, senior citizens group and enjoyed reading a good book. Her love for Jonesport, the ocean breeze and the salty air, was always a part of her life. Surviving are one daughter, Cynthia Sirois Harvey and her husband, Harold of Zephyrhills, FL; three step grandchildren, Alan Harvey and his wife, Nancy, Holly Littlefield and her husband, Gary, Lori Peck and her husband, Doug; four step great grandchildren, two step great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordon Crowley, her brothers, Donald and Evangeline Drisko, John Drisko; sisters, Gertrude and Leslie Higgins, Ella Cunningham, Cora and Reginald Gray and Agnes Drisko. Julia’s family especially thanks the staff of The Woodlands and Beacon Hospice for the care Julia received in her last days. A memorial service will be held 10 AM Monday, May 30, 2016 at Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church, Sawyer Square, Jonesport. Burial will be at Indian River Cemetery, Jonesport.
